Sensei’s Notes

Who will win?

A father and his son went out of the kindergarten. The curious son asked his father:
Dad, who is stronger a whale or an elephant? The father thought for a while and then answered:
An elephant is stronger on the land, but a whale is more powerful in the see.

So who is stronger a perfect karateka or the most advanced judoist?
The one, who is more hospitable. The one, who can better involve his opponent into his own world.
If you do Aikido, you must not play by your opponents rules.
He knows them much better than you. He is the god of his own microcosm.
Patience and calmness. Make your opponent intrude into your own world, where YOU are the winner.
An elephant is stronger on the land, but a whale is more powerful in the see.

Who starts an attack?

Aikido teaches to react to the aggression. The earlier you feel the aggression or even the intention, the easier it is to neutralize it.
Real samurai can hear the bell before it is rung”
Our entire life projects on Aikido, so the training never ends.
At this very moment you can feel that an aggression is being formed somewhere in your inner world. So just stop and think! Maybe you are the one who arouses it. So be conscious! Everything is in your hands.
